Transport is moving toward packet to meet the fast growing bandwidth demand, to support multi-services with lower cost. Which packet transport technologies? – The three years debate is pretty much ended. MPLS-TP has gained momentum from both standards development and Service Providers deployment interest perspective.

In this presentation, we will discuss what problems MPLS-TP is solving; provide an overview on MPLS technologies – Data plane, Control Plane, OAM, and Resilency; illustrate the relationship between MPLS-TP and IP/MPLS. We will describe several real network deployment scenarios, and design considerations for MPLS-TP.
