You can’t even look at a telecom newsletter or website today without seeing the phrase – Net Neutrality. This topic is consuming the FCC and is top-of-mind for virtually every application and service provider. Many SP’s have recently come out in opposition of net neutrality and would prefer to manage the traffic on their network. The reality is, net neutrality is good for ISPs and ASPs, but can be a game changer for the incumbents who rely on revenue from legacy services.

The true Internet is by definition net neutral.  It is a connection of networks among which data freely flows. Telephone and cable companies are experiencing radical declines in revenue because their traditional money-makers – voice and TV – can be provided by application providers that are independent of the network that delivers the application. In this session the audience will learn why Net Neutrality is good for ISP’s and what a true “open Internet” will mean for the future.
